Visiting Orlando? Be Sure to Take a Detour to The Beach

April 4, 2012 by Tawanna 2 Comments

I couldn’t visit the Kissimmee/Orlando area without taking a detour to the beach. The pool and water parks are fine but my boys love the beach! If you have small kids, you know what I mean. So, we headed out to New Smyrna Beach, which is about a 90 minute drive from Kissimmee. It is […]

Outsourcing Travel Services: Where Do We Draw the Line?

March 29, 2012 by Tawanna 6 Comments

It’s 9:30 on a business morning and I’m calling customer service to make changes to a reservation. I get a rep who I can barely understand, part due to our connection and part due to their accent. I have very little time or patience to continue saying, “Can you repeat that please?” After their failed attempts to locate my reservation and a waste of 10 minutes, I hang up the phone highly annoyed.

The Road to Kissimmee and Orlando

March 28, 2012 by Tawanna 5 Comments

One of the great things that I’ve found about social media is that it has made the world even smaller by connecting us to people of like minds that we wouldn’t ordinarily meet. It’s been great to meet so many exciting moms that share the passion of travel like I do, whether it be travel […]

Dinner for Two at Tatu, Baltimore

March 21, 2012 by Tawanna 1 Comment

The other day, hubs and I had a rare opportunity to sit down for an adults-only meal. We had free babysitting for a few hours, courtesy of my youngest’s therapy center (hooray for giving people). Date nights aren’t taken for granted around these parts – they get in where they fit in. It so happened […]

National Cherry Blossom Festival in D.C.

March 21, 2012 by Tawanna 4 Comments

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the gift of trees from Tokyo to Washington, D.C. The National Cherry Blossom Festival is underway in the nation’s capitol. Events began a couple of days ago and run for five weeks until April 27th. Sponsored by Safeway, the festival features Family Days, a collection of family-friendly events […]

March 18, 2012 by Tawanna 7 Comments

With fuel costs up 13% since my January post, the need for savings has become even more relevant for families looking to travel. Road trips and air travel have become more expensive, thwarting the hopes of some families to get a little much needed R &R. Here are some ways that families can save on travel.
