Black Friday and Cyber Monday Travel Deals are becoming more prevalent every year. As long as you haven’t spent all your money on retail goods and know where to look for travel specials, you can set yourself up for a wonderful year of travel.
I challenge myself annually to avoid the gravitational pull of Black Friday’s super crazy electronic sales, 50%-off toys, and whatever else I convince myself that I “need” in anticipation of what I might find in the travel space or on Cyber Monday. This year I’ve seen specials from LAN airlines for travel to South America, Hotels.com, Flighthub.com, Expedia, and more.
Advice for Cyber Monday travel deals
Here’s my best advice for narrowing down where to look for travel deals:
- Don’t be impulsive. Work from a travel wish list that I hope you’ve been keeping either on a vision board, or in a journal or in a planner.
- Google the destination(s) where you’d like to travel with the term “Cyber Monday Travel Deals” at the end to see what comes up. So for example: “London Cyber Monday Travel Deals.”
- Choose a hotel where you’d like to stay on your trip (preferably one where you get rewards points) and head to their website. They might offer lower prices on the proprietary sites than on aggregator sites like Expedia or Orbitz.
- Check the websites of tour companies like Viator.com, G Adventures, or Abercrombie and Kent for special Cyber Monday offers.
These sites may have deals, they may not – you never know what you’ll find. The point is that you have to do a little preliminary research.

Be prepared to act
The most important factor to keep in mind is that travel deals are like flash specials – you have to be quick to the draw and ready to fire. Millions of travelers wait for these deals every year and inventory is often very low.
Lastly, you can save money on travel all year long by not only knowing how and where to look for discounts but also by understanding the best time and ways to travel.
