Last night I watched travel expert Johnny Jet reveal his picks for the Top Hot Spots for 2012 on the Travel Channel. The two experiences I thought were way out of my league (at the moment) are both babies of Sir Richard Branson. Can’t say that I’m teary-eyed about the Outer Space experience but I wouldn’t mind experiencing the splendor of Necker Island. How about you? Which of these 8 hot spots would you want to see?
- Outerspace
- Necker Island, British Virgin Islands
- New Zealand (Queenstown, Lord of the Rings, Hobbiton)
- New York (lower Manhattan)
- Southampton, England (Titanic 100 yr. commemoration)
- London (Warner Bros. Harry Potter Studio Tour)
- United Kingdom (2012 Summer Olympics)
- Belize – Lamanai Mayan ruins (2012 is last year of the Mayan calendar)

Well – I can safely say lower Manhattan 🙂 since I work there every day lol

I am happy to say that I have been to two of the places on the list! NYC and Lamanai in Belize are two amazing destinations. I would love to visit London. Definitely one of my future destinations if not in 2012 then by 2013 god willing.

Kala, again ditto what I mentioned to Aisha about lower Manhattan. I have a feeling that we’ll be making that trip hand-in-hand. And yes, still totally jealous that we didn’t make it to the ruins while we were in Belize. Totally should’ve met up with you guys a couple of days earlier. And I’d love to visit London again – shall we? Ya know 2012 is gonna be hectic there for the Olympics so maybe ’13.

I would love to go to Outer Space, but the Mayan ruins would be a strong second!

Hi Christine, yeah the whole Outer Space thing fascinates me yet frightens the pants off of me. That would be so unbelievably freaky but definitely a trip of a lifetime…especially if you’re paying $200k for a ticket! :O

Aisha, yeah, that’s totally easy for you…lower Manhattan. He mentioned specifically, the museum under the Freedom Towers that will open in September 2012. As much as I probably should go when the time goes around, I’m not sure I will have the strength. A new Trump hotel is being resurrected down there as well as a Morgan hotel, I believe was the name. Both looked pretty spectacular, even under construction.
